Title: Quality Inspector/Specialist
Location: Houston, Texas Fully onsite
Target Start Date: Urgent; candidates are expected to begin within the next several weeks
Type: Six-month contract, possibility for extension, possibility for FTE
This opportunity offers hands-on involvement in the expansion of new manufacturing facilities supporting large-scale battery systems. The inspectors will play an essential role in product quality and factory operations, ensuring that equipment meets all requirements before it is shipped. This position provides more responsibility than a traditional inspection role because inspectors will identify issues, explain their findings, recommend corrective actions, and help prevent recurring manufacturing problems.
Job Description:
The Quality Inspector/Specialist will perform comprehensive final inspections on large battery-system enclosures before shipment from two Houston-area manufacturing facilities. This individual will use an approximately 100-item checklist to inspect mechanical components, electrical components, wiring, power supplies, UPS equipment, battery systems, paint, door handles, and other product features. The inspector will identify and document defects, take photographs, prepare nonconformance reports, and create presentations explaining the issue, expected condition, reason for the defect, and recommended corrective action. This position will also incorporate field and project feedback into inspection checklists, communicate concerns through established escalation processes, and follow up with factory personnel to confirm that corrective actions and process improvements have been implemented. Inspectors must be able to work independently with limited direction in an active factory environment.
Required Skills:
" Approximately five to ten years of relevant inspection or manufacturing experience
" Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings
" Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical equipment
" Ability to identify and evaluate defects

" Microsoft PowerPoint and general Microsoft Office proficiency
" Ability to work fully onsite during irregular shifts
" Ability to work five to six days per week as required
" Ability to stand for extended periods
" Ability to work safely in hot factory conditions

" Ability to clearly explain why an item is defective and recommend corrective action
