Position Summary:
With minimum guidance in a team environment, using independent judgement to determine quality and usability, responsible for a wide variety of complex inspection requirements.
Responsibilities
Maintain accurate and up‐to‐date acceptance and rejection records and/or certifications systems as required by the applicable specifications.
Determine acceptance or rejection after inspection and/or calibration of parts. Identify defective conditions and test failures and prepare all appropriate documentation and/or calibration history.
Interpret, evaluate and document inspection results in accordance with approved procedures.
Perform complete inspections in accordance with the applicable specifications, standards and other contractual documents.
Work with Suppliers and internal teams to resolve paperwork, documentation, and certification issues in a timely and professional manner.
Support containment activities for the site, including inspection, segregation, identification, tracking, and disposition support for suspect or nonconforming material.
Collaborate with production and operations teams to support product flow while ensuring quality requirements are maintained.
Take ownership of assigned inspections, records, follow-up actions, and quality responsibilities.
Support nonconformance processes/DMRs, including identification, documentation/writing, containment, and movement of nonconforming material through DMR systems and MRB/RMA/RTV processes.
Communicate inspection results, quality findings, and documentation discrepancies clearly to operations, engineering, Supplies, production, and other stakeholders.
Observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain a FOD free work area.
Perform other related responsibilities.
Inspection
Qualifications:
Five years related hands-on inspection experience or demonstrated ability to perform described responsibilities.
Preferred experience of CMM operations, background in dimensioning and tolerancing per ANSI Y 14.5.
Knowledge of applicable military standards may be required.
Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, customer''s specifications and internal drawings and procedures.
Experience in quality inspection, manufacturing, supplier quality, receiving inspection, or a related technical role.
Thorough knowledge of machine shop mathematics including trigonometry.
Personal hand tools may be required.
May be required to lift up to 35 lbs.
Must demonstrate effective verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills.
Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player.
Travel: 5% or less.
This position is subject to meeting U.S. export compliance and/or U.S. Government contracting citizenship eligibility requirements.
