As a Receiving Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for performing visual, dimensional, and documentation inspections on incoming mechanical, electrical, and electronic components to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, purchase order requirements, industry standards, and regulatory guidelines. You will have a critical role in preventing nonconforming material from entering the production process and ensuring adherence to aerospace quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform receiving inspections on incoming parts, materials, and assemblies using visual, mechanical, and electrical inspection methods.
  • Verify conformance to engineering drawings, specifications, purchase orders, and applicable aerospace standards.
  • Review supplier documentation including Certificates of Conformance (C of C), material certifications, test reports, and special process documentation.
  • Conduct dimensional inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, pin gauges, and other precision measurement tools.
  • Perform incoming solder and electronic component inspections per IPC and customer requirements.
  • Identify, document, and segregate nonconforming material; initiate nonconformance reports (NCRs) and route to Material Review Board (MRB).
  • Enter inspection results into the quality management system (QMS) and maintain accurate inspection records.
  • Communicate inspection findings to purchasing, engineering, production, and suppliers as needed.
  • Support First Article Inspection (FAI) activities in accordance with AS9102.
  • Assures compliance to Internal, Customer, Statutory, and Regulatory Agency (FAA, EASA, ITAR, etc...) policies/procedures/regulations.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities, including 6S, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
  • Assist in calibration verification of inspection tools when required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned. Extra hours may be required during business peak.
  • Travel: Occasional travel up to 5% (such as once per year)

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum two (2) to five (5) years relevant professional experience as a Quality Control Inspector performing the inspection of mechanical and/or electrical parts, components, in-process sub-assemblies and final assemblies.
  • Must be proficient in utilization of mechanical inspection equipment including: calipers, micrometers, height gauges, go/no-go gauges, coordinated measuring machines and other inspection measurement tools
  • Must possesses working knowledge and experience in: reading, interpreting, and following engineering blue prints, process specifications, policies, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Must be proficient in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access).
  • Solder certification to IPC J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610D preferred.
  • Working knowledge of SAP preferred.
  • Working knowledge and experience with ISO9001/AS9100 manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement and 6S activities preferred.
  • Knowledge of the associated PPAP tools such as PFMEA, Control Plans, Characteristic Matrix, Gage Capability, Process Capability, and Process Flow preferred
  • Must be a U.S. Person under ITAR regulations
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods while performing inspections; occasional lifting of materials up to 25lbs; work will be performed in both office and shop floor environments.
  • Work Environment: Manufacturing and warehouse environment with moderate to high noise levels (hearing protection will be provided). Use of PPE such as safety glasses and safety shoes is required.
