PGS Worldwide is seeking a Quality Inspector for a one year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position performs visual and dimensional inspection of electronic units, subsystems, electromechanical assemblies, mechanical units, and subassemblies. The inspector will evaluate products against blueprints, diagrams, customer specifications, inspection instructions, and established quality procedures.
Required Skills
Experience performing inspection; no degree required
Experience inspecting complex circuit cards
Familiarity with the manufacturing/build process
Certified, previously certified, or working knowledge of IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620, and J-STD-001
Knowledge of ISO 9000, AS9100, and AS9102
Knowledge of First Article Inspection (FAI)
Ability to use various measuring devices, including dial indicators, preset micrometers, scales, and fixtures
Ability to read and work from blueprints, diagrams, customer specifications, inspection instructions, and checklists
Ability to accept, reject, or rework defective or malfunctioning units or systems
Self-directed work style

What You’ll Do
Visually inspect in-process and completed products
Inspect electronic units and subsystems, precision electromechanical assemblies, mechanical units, and subassemblies
Identify structural flaws, internal defects, and missing welds
Use measuring devices to verify product requirements
Accept, reject, or identify units for rework based on inspection results
Perform inspections using blueprints, diagrams, specifications, and checklists
Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process and other control procedures
Support First Article Inspection activities
Apply applicable quality standards and requirements throughout the inspection process
