As a Quality Inspector, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards by conducting thorough quality inspections and witness tests.

 

Join our landmark infrastructure project that is expanding one of the East Coast’s most iconic and vital transportation corridors, the Chesapeake Bay BridgeTunnel. This 17.6mile bridgetunnel complex, recognized as an engineering marvel of the modern world, is undergoing a major designbuild expansion with the construction of the Parallel Thimble Shoal Tunnel to enhance capacity, safety, and reliability for travelers between Virginia Beach and the Eastern Shore.

 

The new bored tunnel (a firstofitskind in the MidAtlantic) will carry southbound traffic while the existing tunnel will carry northbound traffic, significantly improving traffic flow and operational redundancy. This project offers an exceptional opportunity to work on challenging marine construction, deep foundation, and tunnel structures that will have a lasting impact on regional mobility and commerce.

What you will be doing:
  • Identifies risks and discrepancies at the project site during daily site walks, documenting findings, evaluations, and inspections using Company-prescribed procedures and software. 
  • Assists with protocols, qualifications, and prescribed validation procedures and documentation.  
  • Performs system verifications on completed systems to ensure correct installation per contract design specifications. 
  • Documents, analyzes, and reports environmental performance to internal and external clients and regulatory bodies.  
  • Supports impact assessments to identify, assess, and reduce the organization’s environmental risks and financial costs, following the direction of the environmental team and procedures. 
What we are looking for:
  • Bachelor’s degree or Engineering Technologist Diploma preferred.
  • 2+ year related experience preferred.
  • ACI or Canadian equivalent certification required within six-months of hire.
  • Experience or training in environmental regulatory and construction industry compliance preferred.
  • Developing understanding of construction quality standards and processes.
  • Strong organization and communication skills.
  • Willingness and ability to learn and grow in environmental monitoring, technical writing and documentation.
