In this position, you will be supporting one of our Combat Mission Systems (CMS) Businesses located in Sterling Heights, MI or York, PA. Relocation will not be offered, and housing is not provided. This position is expected to be full-time (40 hours / week) during the summer and part-time (16-20 hours/ weel) with flexibilty. The Combat Vehicles line of business within the Platforms & Services (P&S) Sector of BAE Systems is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented intern to support the assembly of armored military vehicles. We are looking for an Engineering student to join our Quality Team as an entry level intern. The Quality Assurance Intern will assist in the evaluation and improvement of supplier performance; ensuring compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements. This role provides hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, focusing on process optimization, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety. The Quality Engineering Intern will support the Quality Department in maintaining high standards of product excellence and operational compliance. This role is designed for a motivated student or recent graduate seeking hands-on experience in quality assurance, process improvement, and regulatory compliance within a global defense environment. The intern will work closely with quality professionals to ensure that all deliverables meet customer specifications and internal BAE Systems standards. **As a Quality Assurance Intern, you will:** + **Quality Support:** Assist in the execution of quality audits, inspections, and testing protocols to ensure product conformity. + **Documentation:** Help maintain and update quality records, inspection reports, and compliance documentation. + **Process Improvement:** Support the team in identifying process inefficiencies and assisting in the implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). + **Collaboration:** Coordinate with cross-functional teams to understand production requirements and ensure quality checkpoints are integrated into the workflow. + **Reporting:** Assist in the collection and analysis of quality metrics to help track performance trends and areas for improvement. **Required Education, Experience, & Skills** + Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Quality Management, or a related technical field. + Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy. + Ability to work effectively within a team environment. + Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). **Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills** Prior internship or academic project experience related to Quality Assurance (QA) or Quality Control (QC). **Competencies for Success:** + Methodical Approach: Ability to follow strict procedures and checklists to ensure no detail is overlooked. + Curiosity: A desire to learn the complexities of defense manufacturing and quality governance. + Communication: Ability to clearly document findings and communicate observations to supervisors. + Familiarity with quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100). + Basic understanding of Lean Six Sigma principles or Root Cause Analysis (RCA) techniques. + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. **Pay Information** Full-Time Salary Range: $45553 - $63330 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience. Temporary employees generally are not eligible for BAE Systems benefits, but can elect to participate in the 401(k) savings plan.
