Description
Must have CMM and Romer Arm experience!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections on fabricated/welded steel parts using precision tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMM, Faro Arm)
Conduct first-off inspections and verify weld quality per AWS D1.1/CSA W47.1 standards
Identify non-conformances, support root cause analysis, and track corrective actions
Complete PPAP, ISIR, and dimensional layout reports
Maintain quality documentation per ISO 9001/IATF 16949/ISO 14001
Manage calibration records for inspection equipment
Support 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Post-secondary education in Quality, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering Technology, or equivalent hands-on experience in steel fabrication
25 years' experience in a fabrication or welding environment, with a focus on quality inspection or assurance
Strong understanding of steel grades, welding processes, and fabrication methods
Proficient in blueprint reading, GD&T, and weld symbol interpretation
Experience operating and programming CMM or Faro Arm equipment (training provided if needed)
Knowledge of PPAP, Control Plans, FMEA, and MSA is an asset
Working knowledge of ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 quality systems
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with exposure to ERP or quality management systems an asset
