Position Summary
The Quality Manager owns the quality management system and IATF and ISO certifications for an automotive parts facility, and works cross-functionally with sister plants and customers. This role manages the audit program and customer quality. The Quality Manager reports to the Plant Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Manage and maintain IATF 16949:2016 and ISO 9001:2015 certification and systems, and support ISO 14001:2015.
Own the overall QMS/EQMS and keep documentation current for production.
Lead APQP and PPAP/PSW submissions and customer quality approvals, including customer-specific requirements (CSRs).
Apply the automotive core tools (PFMEA, MSA, SPC) and support CQI special-process assessments where applicable (for example CQI-9, CQI-11, CQI-12, CQI-23).
Manage corrective and preventive action using 8D, 5-Why, and fishbone tools.
Work with the management team to meet customer quality expectations and resolve non-conforming issues.
Lead internal and layered process audits and 6S activities.
Support sister plants and the department budget.
Requirements
Associate or bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience.
3+ years of internal or lead auditor experience in an automotive environment.
Demonstrated knowledge of IATF 16949:2016 and ISO 9001:2015 and the automotive core tools (APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, MSA, SPC).
CQI special-process assessment experience (CQI-9, CQI-11, CQI-12) a plus depending on the processes on site.
Corrective and preventive action experience (8D, 5-Why, fishbone).
Experience with an EQMS (electronic quality management system).
Proficient in MS Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Superior written and oral communication skills.
