Position Title: Quality Manager

Reports To: Director of Quality

Classification: Salary -Exempt

 

Position Summary:

The Quality Manager is responsible for the overall quality performance of manufactured industrial products and the effectiveness of the Quality Management System. This role provides leadership and direction to the Quality team, including Quality Supervisors, Inspectors, and Engineers, while driving continuous improvement, cost reduction, and customer satisfaction initiatives.

The Quality Manager partners cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales, Purchasing, and Customers to ensure compliance with all regulatory and customer requirements and to strengthen a culture of quality excellence across the organization.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Owns and maintains the Quality Management System (QMS), including the Quality Assurance Manual, policies, and procedures; ensures compliance with ISO standards.
  • Leads all external audits (customer and regulatory), including preparation, execution, and follow-up actions; serves as the primary site representative for audits.
  • Establishes and drives corrective and preventive action systems including root cause analysis.
  • Provides leadership and oversight to Inspectors and Engineers; sets expectations, coaches, and develops team members.
  • Develops and executes internal audit programs to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Partners with Engineering on new product introduction, design changes, and process validation.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally to align operations with quality standards and customer requirements.
  • Leads supplier quality initiatives, including audits and corrective actions.
  • Oversees FAIRs, PPAP documentation, and quality records.
  • Leads customer complaint investigations through resolution.
  • Serves as technical authority for inspection and measurement systems.
  • Drives continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and cost reduction.
  • Partners with Director of Quality on strategic goals and metrics.
  • Develops and tracks KPIs and drives accountability.
  • Promotes a culture of quality and continuous improvement.

 

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5–8+ years of progressive quality experience including leadership.

 

Required Experience/Skills:

  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems and ISO standards.
  • Experience in machining and manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of Lean, DFM, PPAP, and 8D methodologies.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

 

Desired Experience / Skills:

  • Experience in flow control valves or similar products.
  • Experience with Zeiss CMM.
  • Experience with ISO 13485.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills.

 

Work Environment:

  • Manufacturing environment including machining and assembly operations.
