This position is responsible for managing all facets of the Quality Department. Responsible for maintaining quality and environmental systems. Maintain customer and supplier communications. Trains, establishes work assignments, reviews performance and disciplines employees. Assures adherence to operating standards as they affect equipment schedules, quality, labor and materials, budget plans and personnel. Work is guided by established company policy and quality requirements of both the Quality & Environmental Management System and customer expectations. Serves as the designated Environmental Management Representative (EMR) and is responsible for ensuring the EMS is functional and for reporting on the status of the EMS to top management. Work involves direction or supervision of other employees. Reports to the Vice President of Operations. QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires comprehensive knowledge of best Quality practices and functional Manufacturing and Quality systems. Must possess extensive experience with ISO/IATF certification programs. Must participate in AIAG industry standards training programs. Position requires a bachelor’s degree. DUTIES:
RESPONSIBILITY, ACCOUNTABILITY AND AUTHORITY:
WORKING CONDITIONS: Employee will be exposed to the noise, fumes and temperature extremes typically found in a light manufacturing environment. Risk of injury from being in close proximity of operating machinery is possible, but unlikely if proper safety precautions are followed. Lifting requirements for this position dictate that the employee must be physically capable of lifting a minimum of 35# on a repetitive basis and 50# on an occasional basis. All employees must wear PPE which includes hearing protection and safety glasses, both of which are provided by RIMA, and slip resistant shoes which the employee provides.
