Position Summary

The responsibility of this position is to understand and implement the principles of the Company's product and service quality assurance program, quality evaluation, and control. This role is crucial in two critical areas of the quality chain: Corrective Action follow-through and Continuous Improvement efforts. The individual is responsible for all QA/QC activities at the facilities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Interact with staff, customers, and suppliers daily to resolve problems and quality issues, ensuring effective corrective action and suggesting improvements for the Company's quality efforts.
  • Serve as the ISO representative while maintaining the organization's ISO certification.
  • Develop, apply, and maintain quality requirements and standards for development and manufacturing products while observing the ASQ Code of Ethics for Professional Conduct.
  • Serve as the primary Quality Assurance resource to department supervisors for problem identification, resolution, loss reporting, and continuous improvement.
  • Support concurrent Engineering efforts by participating in design development projects representing Quality Assurance and the customer.
  • Promote and execute quality standards, inspection processes, test methodology, quality plans, documents, and reports.
  • Develop, execute, and analyze quality-reporting measures.
  • Report to management on quality issues, trends, and losses.
  • Direct internal and external quality audits, customer audits, and supplier audits.
  • Compile, write, and deliver training material on quality standards and activities.
  • Maintain calibration of measuring equipment and gauges by working with an outside lab.
  • Work on various continuous improvement projects, both inter-departmental and within other departments, relating to quality assurance and incoming inspection in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 standard.
  • Maintain QA/QC data within the SAP ERP system.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering, quality engineering, or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of QA/QC experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Current CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) certification by ASQ is required within one (1) year of hire.
  • Current CMQ/OE (Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence) certification by ASQ is required within three (3) years of hire.
  • Knowledge of ISO standards, quality system techniques/methodologies, common statistical tools, leadership principles, and quality engineering practices are essential.
  • Experience in the fluid power industry and/or manufacturing environment is preferred.

Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of ERP software, spreadsheet software, and word processing software; SAP experience is a plus.

Other Requirements

  • Possesses knowledge of inspection and control methods, techniques, and documentation.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally when required.

Shift and Schedule

Monday through Friday, flexible 8-hour shifts but need to be there for core hours.
