Job Title: Quality Manager

Job Description

The Quality Manager will be responsible for overseeing and executing all quality-related functions in a small aerospace CNC job shop. This includes owning the Quality Management System (QMS), inspecting oversight, conducting root cause investigations, and providing direct support on the shop floor. This is a hands-on role that requires daily involvement with inspectors and measurement activities, in addition to strategic quality leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the Quality Management System (AS9100 / ISO 9001).
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) using tools such as 8D, 5 Why, and FMEA.
  • Oversee inspection and measurement activities, utilizing tools like calipers and gauges.
  • Engage with the shop floor to execute quality control and ensure compliance with aerospace quality standards.
  • Collaborate with inspectors and provide direct support in measurement validation and inspection processes.
  • Communicate effectively to bridge the gap between leadership and the shop floor.

Essential Skills

  • 5 to 10+ years of experience in aerospace quality management.
  • Proven exposure to AS9100 systems and practical application of quality tools.
  • Hands-on experience in quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC).
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Familiarity with inspection tools, manufacturing drawings, and production workflows.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in a highly regulated aerospace quality environment.
  • Ability to demonstrate both QA and QC capability.
  • Proficiency in root cause analysis and corrective action processes.

Work Environment

The work environment is a small, lean aerospace CNC job shop characterized by high-mix, low-volume production. The role is highly hands-on and driven by shop-floor interactions. The organization is structured with minimal layers, promoting high accountability and cross-functional collaboration with inspectors and leadership. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milford, CT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.09/hr.
