We are seeking a Quality & EHS Manager to lead quality systems, compliance initiatives, and environmental health & safety programs for a custom rubber extrusion manufacturing facility. Reporting directly to the Director of Quality, this individual will play a critical leadership role in maintaining product quality, driving continuous improvement, and fostering a strong safety culture across the plant.

Client Details

Our client specializes in custom rubber extrusion solutions serving automotive and industrial customers. Their products include seals, gaskets, weather stripping, truck bed seals, and other engineered rubber components, with plans to expand into additional markets such as aerospace. Their manufacturing facility employs approximately 50 team members and maintains a collaborative, team-oriented culture.

Description

  • Maintain and continuously improve the facility's Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Serve as the plant Management Representative for ISO 9001 compliance
  • Lead EHS initiatives, employee training, and safety culture development
  • Conduct audits and ensure compliance with corporate safety standards and regulatory requirements
  • Oversee incoming, in-process, and final product inspections
  • Direct the control and disposition of non-conforming material and products
  • Lead internal and external corrective action activities and ensure timely closure
  • Respond to customer complaints and drive effective root cause analysis
  • Participate in APQP activities and support new product feasibility reviews
  • Ensure PPAP, FAI, and other customer qualification requirements are completed and submitted
  • Develop and improve SPC programs, material review processes, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Lead and develop a team of Quality Technicians while partnering closely with production and engineering teams.

Profile

A successful Quality Manager should have:

  • Manufacturing quality experience in plastics, rubber, or converting operations
  • Experience with extrusion, injection molding, transfer molding, or compression molding processes
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and/or AS9100 quality systems
  • Experience with SPC, corrective actions, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement programs
  • Leadership experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Environmental Health & Safety, or a related field
  • Experience supporting APQP, PPAP, and FAI processes
  • Lean Manufacturing training or certification
  • Background serving automotive or industrial manufacturing customers.
