Manager of Quality Assurance – Chemical Ingredients Manufacturer - Location: Greater Richmond Region | On-site | Competitive Compensation + Benefits

The Richmond Group USA has partnered with a mission-driven chemical ingredients manufacturer in the Greater Richmond Region to recruit for a Quality Manager.

This role will lead quality systems, compliance efforts, and documentation management across a GMP / FDA regulated operation. This role will have a high level of ownership in maintaining and improving quality systems in a fast-paced, cGXP-compliant environment.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned quality professional from the pharmaceutical, chemical, or biotech sector who thrives in a collaborative setting and brings deep expertise in regulatory standards, continuous improvement, and cross-functional leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure alignment with GxP standards and regulatory requirements across all operations
  • Lead quality assurance initiatives and cross-functional collaboration with Operations, Regulatory, IT, and other departments to drive compliance
  • Manage quality oversight activities, including training and mentoring teams, preparing for regulatory and customer audits, and supporting supplier/vendor qualification and inspection readiness.
  • Analyze and report quality performance metrics, support regulatory submissions, and ensure compliance with licensing and documentation requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or a related discipline is required.
  • 7+ years in Quality Assurance or Quality Operations within a FDA / cGMP manufacturing environment (pharmaceutical, biotech, or specialty chemicals preferred).
  • Strong understanding of FDA regulations, GxP principles, and quality systems. Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong communication skills.
  • Proven ability to lead in cross-functional settings and balance priorities under changing timelines.
  • A servant leader who builds trust and delivers results with integrity
