Sterling Engineering is partnering with a precision manufacturing company in the South Beloit area to hire a hands on Quality Manager. This role will be responsible for leading quality operations while remaining directly involved in CMM programming, inspections, process development, FAI documentation, and PPAP activities. The ideal candidate will come from a CNC machining or precision manufacturing environment and enjoy balancing leadership responsibilities with day to day hands on quality work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead daily quality operations within a precision machining/manufacturing environment
  • Program and operate CMM equipment to support inspection and production requirements
  • Perform hands on part inspections and support quality troubleshooting activities
  • Develop and improve quality processes, procedures, and inspection documentation
  • Prepare and review FAI documentation and PPAP packages
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for internal and customer quality concerns
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to improve quality and production processes
  • Manage and mentor a team of 2–3 Quality Engineers/CMM Programmers
  • Ensure compliance with customer specifications, blueprint requirements, and quality standards
  • Support audits and continuous improvement initiatives across the quality department

Must Haves:
  • 5+ years of quality leadership experience within a CNC machining, metal manufacturing, or precision manufacturing environment
  • Strong hands on CMM programming experience
  • Experience creating and managing FAI and PPAP documentation
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T requirements
  • Experience managing or mentoring quality personnel in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of inspection processes, quality systems, and manufacturing operations
