Position Overview
Twin Disc is seeking an experienced Quality Supervisor to lead our Inspection Department in Racine, WI. This role is responsible for supervising inspection personnel, prioritizing inspection workloads in alignment with manufacturing and planning needs and ensuring inspection activities consistently meet quality system requirements. The Quality Supervisor will serve as a technical resource and leader, supporting both day‑to‑day production and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Supervision
- Lead and supervise a team of 5–10 quality assurance specialists.
- Provide coaching, guidance, and training on inspection methods, gaging techniques, and quality procedures.
- Foster a safe, collaborative, and accountable work environment.
Quality & Inspection Oversight
- Prioritize and manage inspection schedules to support manufacturing throughput.
- Ensure inspections are performed effectively and in compliance with quality standards.
- Review and interpret inspection results and disposition inspected material appropriately.
- Maintain accurate quality records to support compliance and product traceability.
Technical & Systems Support
- Write, edit, and maintain CMM and VICIVISION inspection programs.
- Serve as a technical advisor for gage selection, GD&T interpretation, and blueprint reading.
- Support calibration activities and non-conforming material processes.
- Escalate non-conforming issues requiring corrective action.
Continuous Improvement & Collaboration
- Support manufacturing with troubleshooting and problem-solving activities.
- Participate in corrective action teams and internal audits.
- Assist with inspections for production and special projects as needed.
- Stay current with industry best practices and quality system standards (ISO 9001 or similar).
Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years of experience in machining within an ISO 9001 or similar quality system environment.
- 5+ years of hands-on inspection experience.
- 2+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
- 3+ years of experience programming Coordinate Measurement Machines (CMM).
- Strong expertise in gaging techniques (CMMs, micrometers, calipers, indicators, depth gages, height stands, etc.).
- Proficient in GD&T and blueprint reading.
- Experience using ERP systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred
- PC-DMIS programming experience.
- Technical or Engineering degree.
- Calibration experience.
