Quality Supervisor

Department: Quality Assurance / Food Safety
Reports To: Quality Manager

Job Summary

The Quality Supervisor supports daily food safety and quality assurance activities in a USDA-regulated food processing facility. This role ensures production processes comply with USDA, FSIS, HACCP, and company quality standards while supervising quality personnel on the floor.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily quality assurance activities and QA technicians
• Monitor production processes for compliance with USDA, FSIS, HACCP, GMPs, and SSOPs
• Perform and oversee product inspections, checks, and sampling
• Review quality records and ensure proper documentation is maintained
• Support pre-operational inspections and corrective actions
• Investigate quality or food safety issues and escalate concerns as needed
• Work closely with Production, Sanitation, and Maintenance teams
• Assist with audits, regulatory inspections, and customer requirements
• Train employees on food safety and quality procedures as needed

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
• 2–4+ years of quality or food safety experience in a USDA food processing environment
• Knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, SSOPs, and FSIS regulations
• Prior lead or supervisory experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills

Working Conditions

• Food processing environment with exposure to temperature changes and production areas
• Flexible schedule, including weekends or off-shift support as needed
