Job Responsibilities:

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Approving and scheduling of time for Quality Inspectors & Technicians
  • Scheduling quality related activities in the facility and ensuring compliance to schedule for all product and product audits and testing
  • Maintaining & scheduling calibration activities in the facility
  • Maintaining Quality Inspectors & Quality Technician Training
  • Supervision of external sorting companies, creation of work instructions for sorting activities, and communication of sorted items to materials
  • Creation and tracking of Sort ID's and tracking PO's to the Sort ID's
  • Coordinating and scheduling weekly team meetings
  • Participates in cross functional teams to develop control plans, PFMEA, and root cause analysis
  • Maintaining quality data in the SharePoint system
  • Maintaining SPC requirements within the system
  • Review Customer Specific Requirements

HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain and clean, safe and professional place for employees to work by utilizing them during downtime or agreed upon contractual time.
  • Take the lead in implementing successful job rotations that are developed by the safety engineer and approved by the management team.
  • Ensure all employees have a safe environment in that all hazards, unsafe actions, or unsafe conditions have been identified, corrected and/or eliminated.
  • Enforce safety rules, policies, and procedures consistently, and respond to and investigate all reports of accidents or injuries in a timely manner.
  • Thoroughly train new employees, correct or commend employees' health and safety performance. and conduct adequate performance appraisals by evaluating an employee's safety performance,
  • Take an active part in the plant safety program by performing regular workplace inspections, conducting regular workplace inspections, conducting safety talks in departmental meetings, effectively investigate accidents/incidents promptly, and assist in meeting or exceeding plant safety goals.
  • Display a positive attitude towards safety and lead by example that will result in a safe and healthful workplace for all who work at Spring Hill Seating Systems.
  • Ensure that Health, Safety and Environmental standards are adhered to in accordance to the Magna Employee Charter and the Occupational Safety and Health Act.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of secondary education or ASQ Certification (CCT, CQA or better)
  • Three to five years' experience in an automotive assembly or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in inspection with strong skills in Quality and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Experience with computers and good math skills.
  • Good communication skills
