The Quality Supervisor is responsible for the execution and day-to-day operation of plant-level quality assurance and quality control activities, ensuring adherence to established Quality Management System (QMS) requirements, internal standards, and regulatory guidelines.
Working under the Quality & Process Control Manager, this role implements quality processes, supports audit readiness, and ensures consistent application of inspection standards, while supervising inspectors and technicians and partnering with Production and Process teams to maintain process stability and product quality.
_Essential Functions:_
Team Leadership & Daily Operations
Supervise, coach, and develop a team of 6 quality inspectors and technicians
Set daily priorities, manage shift coverage, and ensure strong floor presence
Reinforce safe work practices and adherence to plant procedures
Quality Assurance & Product Compliance
Ensure execution of inspection plans, lab testing, and product audits
Verify compliance to product specifications and inspection (dimensional, visual, color)
Oversee layered process audits and ensure timely closure of findings
Maintain calibration systems and ensure inspection equipment readiness
QMS Leadership (ISO & VSI/PEPA)
Maintain compliance to ISO 9001 Quality Management System requirements
Ensure adherence to VSI Product Evaluation & Product Accreditation (PEPA) program standards
Own document control, standard operating procedures, and quality records within the plant
Ensure control plans, work instructions, and quality standards are current and followed on the floor
Audits & Management Review
Plan and execute internal audits to ensure QMS effectiveness and compliance
Serve as primary plant contact for external audits (ISO certification audits, VSI/PEPA audits, and customer audits/visits)
Drive audit readiness, coordinate audit activities, and ensure timely closure of findings
Lead or support Management Review meeting, including preparation of quality performance data, audit results, customer feedback, and continuous improvement actions
Track and report effectiveness of corrective actions from audits and reviews
Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement
Analyze scrap, rework, and defect trends to identify improvement opportunities
Lead or support CI initiatives to reduce Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ)
Participate in PFMEA and control plan development with Production and R&D/NPD teams
Support product trials, validations, and new product introductions
Partner with Process Technicians and Engineers to reduce variation and eliminate defects
Lead structured root cause analysis (5 Why, Fishbone, 8D, etc.)
Drive containment, corrective, and preventive actions (CAPA)
Support inspection automation projects
Customer & Compliance Focus
Support investigation and response to customer complaints and warranty claims
Ensure compliance with regulatory, internal, and industry requirements
Drive a culture of “quality at the source” across production teams
Maintain accurate documentation aligned with ISO and VSI/PEPA requirements
Communicate plant quality performance and risks to leadership
Manage Quality data in MES and other data systems
Leadership & Soft Skills
Strong presence on the production floor with ability to influence operators and supervisors
Effective communicator with ability to lead audits and present to leadership
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
Data-driven and continuous improvement oriented
Required Qualifications
+ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field
+ 5+ years’ experience as part of a quality manufacturing organization
+ 2+ years’ experience supporting or leading ISO 9001 systems and audits
Additional Qualifications
+ Strong knowledge of quality standards ISO9001
+ Experience with internal auditing, external audit coordination and management review processes
+ Strong project managements skills and problem-solving skills (RCA)
+ Maintains safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures and complying with codes and legal regulations.
+ Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (written, verbal, presentations, etc.)
+ Strong computer skills (MS Office and ERP)
+ Ability to travel up to 20%

We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates and provide the national pay range for this position which is $92,000 to $142,000 year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 12 % of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $103,040 to $159,040. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
