ASR Group companies also produce and market Tellus, a single-use, compostable tableware and foodservice product made from plant fibers, including sugarcane.OVERVIEWThe Quality Systems Coordinator is a member of the Buffalo operations Quality Group and reports directly to the site Quality Manager. The role is primarily responsible for managing all aspects of BRC certification, Quality and Food Safety systems (including the Prerequisite Programs) and the HACCP plan.ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIESSets standards and monitor procedures to ensure food safety at all stages of the operationMaintains and improves site BRC certificationLeads cross-functional HACCP team including regular meetings with the HACCP team to exchange information and discuss new procedures or equipment related to food safetySpearheads all aspects of internal audit program consisting of cross-functional teamLeads site's Food Safety CommitteeActively participates in BRC and customer's audits, leads any necessary follow up to audit's observationsManages all aspects of document control for the site's quality programs, including development and implementation of procedures and forms to support quality and food safety systemsReads, interprets, and cross-references the accuracy of large number of records which requires a broad and specialized knowledge of the contentDevelops and delivers training and orientation materials about HACCP and related topics (GMPs, sanitation, etc.)Manages site's local and corporate systems for quality training recordsManages corrective actions program, including verification of corrective actions completion and their effectivenessPerforms traceability exercisesManages all aspects of site's pest control programsAssists in preparation of necessary reports and trending informationWorks with Supplier Quality on approving new suppliers and new ingredientsLiaises with ASR corporate staff on methods and policies developmentInteracts with Supplier Quality in order to communicate company standards for quality and safety of incoming productsInteracts with purchasing, maintenance, process, packaging and warehouse supervisory teams to ensure reliability of food safety programsPractices and promotes GMPs and plant safety proceduresPerforms other duties as assignedWORK EXPERIENCEHACCP and related food safety trainingBRC or other related GFSI benchmarked standard training / certificationKnowledge of Quality Assurance/Control practices and proceduresExcellent communication skills both verbal and written in EnglishPreferred experience working as a GFSI practitionerPreferred experience in the development and maintenance of HACCP PlansPreferred experience working on an internal audit teamPreferred experience working with pest control service providersEDUCATION REQUIREMENTSBachelor's degree in a related discipline from an accredited college/university is requiredAt least 1 year of applicable professional experience working with quality & food safety systemsSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITYNoESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES)Quality Management- Knowledge and application of food industry quality systems; Knowledge and application of procedures required for testing food quality.Acting with Integrity: Clearly states goals and beliefs; lets people know his/her true intentions; does what he/she said they would do; follows through on commitments; Understands and follows company policiesCommunication & Interpersonal Skills: Expresses ideas and information in a clear and concise manner; tailors message to fit the interests and needs of the audience; delivers information in a manner that is interesting and compelling to the listenerRegulatory Matters- Demonstrates understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements for area of responsibility.Accountability: Takes accountability for delivering on commitments; owns mistakes and uses them as opportunities for learning and development; openly discusses his/her actions and their consequences both good and bad.Credibility - Adheres to a set of core values that are represented in decisions and actions.
