Pay:$30.00–$34.00 per hour(Based on Experience)

Shift:1st Shift | 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Position Overview

Stand-By Personnel is seeking an experienced Quality Technician to join a growing manufacturing and metal fabrication team in the Tulsa area. This position is responsible for performing incoming, in-process, and final inspections to ensure fabricated products meet customer specifications, engineering requirements, and applicable quality standards.

The ideal candidate has previous quality inspection experience in an ASME metal fabrication environment, is confident reading blueprints and engineering drawings, and has hands-on experience with precision measuring equipment. This role works closely with production personnel to identify quality concerns, investigate nonconforming products, support corrective actions, and improve manufacturing processes.

Required Experience & Skills

• Minimum 2 years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment
• High school diploma or GED required
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications
• Experience performing dimensional and visual inspections
• Proficiency with calipers, micrometers, gauges, tape measures, and other measuring equipment
• Strong understanding of manufacturing quality requirements
• Excellent attention to detail and dimensional accuracy
• Strong documentation and organizational skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality documentation systems
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with production personnel

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of fabricated products
• Inspect fit-ups, welds, fabricated assemblies, and final product appearance
• Verify completed work conforms to customer specifications and engineering drawings
• Conduct dimensional inspections using precision measuring equipment
• Use calipers, micrometers, gauges, tape measures, and other inspection tools
• Complete quality audits and process-verification checks throughout production
• Document inspection results accurately and maintain required quality records
• Identify and document nonconforming products and materials
• Investigate quality concerns and assist with determining causes
• Support root cause analysis and corrective action activities
• Participate in containment activities when quality problems are identified
• Work directly with production personnel to resolve quality issues
• Maintain compliance with company, customer, and applicable ASME quality requirements
• Assist with training production employees on inspection requirements and quality standards
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
• Follow all company safety procedures and quality requirements

Material Traceability & Documentation

• Record and verify material heat numbers
• Retrieve and review Material Test Reports (MTRs) as required
• Maintain accurate inspection and quality documentation
• Support material traceability requirements throughout production
• Verify required quality records are complete and accurate
• Assist with documentation related to nonconforming materials and corrective actions

ASME & Fabrication Quality

The Quality Technician will help maintain quality throughout metal fabrication operations, including:

• Fit-up inspection
• Weld inspection
• Dimensional verification
• Final visual inspection
• Blueprint and specification compliance
• Material traceability
• MTR documentation
• Nonconformance reporting
• Quality audits
• Process verification
• Corrective action support

Preferred Qualifications

• ASME metal fabrication quality experience
• Knowledge of ASME quality systems and standards
• Welding or fabrication inspection experience
• Metal fabrication, machining, or industrial manufacturing experience
• Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action processes
• Material traceability and MTR experience
• Quality auditing experience
• Experience training production employees on quality requirements
• Associate degree or technical certification in Quality, Manufacturing, or a related field

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk throughout a manufacturing facility for extended periods
• Frequent movement between fabrication and inspection areas
• Ability to bend, reach, kneel, and position measuring equipment as required
• Manual dexterity required to operate precision measuring and inspection equipment
• Visual acuity necessary to perform detailed dimensional and visual inspections
• Ability to safely work around welding, fabrication, machining, and production equipment while wearing required PPE

Work Environment

• Industrial metal fabrication and manufacturing environment
• Regular interaction with fabricated components, weldments, measuring equipment, engineering drawings, and quality documentation
• Collaboration with Production, Engineering, Quality, and other manufacturing personnel
• Detail-intensive position requiring accurate inspection and documentation throughout the manufacturing process
• Strong emphasis on ASME requirements, customer specifications, traceability, product quality, and continuous improvement
