Responsibilities:
Now hiring for a QA Technician at our Ada, Oklahoma manufacturing plant. In this role you will be responsible for executing advanced quality‑control functions that ensure Turnout gear meets stringent engineering specifications and customer requirements.
This role conducts incoming and in‑process inspections using calibrated measurement tools, templates, and digital documentation systems to verify dimensional accuracy, seam construction integrity, stitch density, thread tension, and material conformity.
The technician performs detailed root‑cause analysis on non‑conformances by evaluating machine settings, operator technique, material behavior, and workflow sequencing, then collaborates with production and engineering teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
Responsibilities include auditing finished goods against technical drawings and spec sheets, validating equipment setups, developing and monitoring adherence to standards, and maintaining traceable quality records for compliance and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
The technician also supports the training process by overseeing the execution of the audits and certification of associates and process optimization by identifying systemic defects, recommending adjustments to sewing parameters, and contributing to lean manufacturing improvements that enhance first‑pass yield, reduce rework and scrap, and stabilize production quality across multiple product lines.
Daily Execution
- Monitors hour-by-hour quality performance to required rates.
- Incoming inspection of raw materials and components.
- Perform structured analysis to ensure products meet engineering, dimensional, performance and customer requirements.
- Support manufacturing associates with issue resolution.
- Conduct the initial countermeasures against the problems identified for the goal deviation.
- Conduct root‑cause analysis by isolating variables—machine settings, needle type, thread quality, operator technique, material stretch, or environmental factors like humidity.
- Document non‑conformances, categorize defect types, and determine whether issues are isolated events or systemic patterns.
- Feed corrective and preventive actions, with adjustments to sewing parameters, workflow sequencing, or operator training.
- Manage Daily Quality KPIs and action trackers.
- Work with Operations and Engineering to resolve concerns with product function or design.
- Comply with standards pertaining to safety, people, quality, delivery, CI & Operating System.
- Other tasks assigned by supervision.
Train, motivate, and manage the skills and experience of the work team.
- Support creation and implementation of "DeepHow" training videos.
- Manage pay for skill audit/certification program.
- Foster continuous improvement initiatives to improve Quality results and customer satisfaction.
- Help maintain an up-to-date skills matrix, fostering versatility.
- Identify needs for specific training or development amongst associates.
- Provide associates with the necessary feedback to support Quality improvement.
- Serve as a role model and knowledge disseminator by adhering to company policies, standards, and regulations.
Comply with, maintain, and disseminate the operating system.
- Perform daily maintenance of performance indicators.
- Participate in daily performance monitoring meetings.
- Maintain plant dashboards for leading and lagging indicators as well as actions trackers in accordance with the quality and operating systems.
Qualifications:
This role is posted at a Level I
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years or more of Globe manufacturing or general manufacturing experience.
- 2+ years or more of Quality Control, process technician, or quality technician experience.
Preferred:
- 4 years or more of Globe manufacturing or general manufacturing experience.
- PFMEA and Control Plan experience, maintenance experience, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or above.
