Position: Quality Technician
Contract to Permanent Opportunity
20.00 - 23.00 hourly
Citizenship: MUST BE US CITIZEN
Schedule: 1st Shift / 7 am – 330 pm (flexible with start/end time but 8 hrs/day)
Overtime: Some OT may be requested - - will be voluntary
The Quality Technician will play an important role in ensuring that materials, components, and finished products meet Collins Aerospace's quality standards and specifications. This position involves hands-on inspection and testing, quality documentation, troubleshooting quality issues, and working closely with engineering and manufacturing teams.
Job Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform inspections and testing on incoming raw materials, in-process components, and finished products.
• Use precision measuring and inspection equipment, including calipers, micrometers, CMMs, and other measurement tools.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and product specifications.
• Document inspection results, nonconformances, and deviations.
• Work with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to investigate and resolve quality issues.
• Participate in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) activities.
• Support and maintain quality management systems such as ISO 9001 and AS9100.
• Audit manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with established quality and regulatory requirements.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on product quality, waste reduction, and efficiency.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED.
• 2–4+ years of quality inspection, manufacturing, or related experience.
• Experience using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measurement equipment.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, or similar quality management systems.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Aerospace or defense manufacturing experience.
• CMM inspection experience.
• Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
• Experience with SAP or other ERP systems.
• Associate degree or technical certification in Quality Assurance, Engineering, or a related field.
Work Environment:
This is a hands-on manufacturing quality position that may require standing for extended periods. Some overtime or weekend work may occasionally be required based on production needs.
