CTG's long-standing Fortune 500 client of over 15 years has a W2 contract assignment for a Quality Technician I.
Type: Contract
Job Title: Quality Technician I
Location: Wilmington, NC
Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Wilmington, NC
Pay Rate: $15.66–$17.92/hour
Work Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Education: Associate degree
Description
The Quality Technician I supports manufacturing quality and process performance by analyzing production data, monitoring product quality, supporting root cause investigations, and helping improve process capability and efficiency. This role works closely with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams to resolve quality issues, support quality system requirements, and maintain product and process standards.
Responsibilities
Prepare manufacturing processes for new product codes and experiments by establishing specifications and workflow requirements.
Analyze production and quality data to support product disposition and quality hold decisions.
Support quality improvement initiatives focused on process efficiency, measurement capability, scrap reduction, and product quality.
Participate in Measurement System Analysis (MSA) activities.
Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for products and processes that do not meet requirements.
Partner with manufacturing and engineering teams to implement sustainable, quality-compliant solutions.
Provide training on quality systems, procedures, and corrective actions as needed.
Prepare quality status reports and communicate findings to appropriate teams.
Requirements
Minimum 2 years of experience as a process or quality technician in a manufacturing environment.
Basic statistics knowledge and experience.
Experience with data collection, analysis, and reporting using Excel, Access, or similar tools.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Strong observational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Ability to work effectively with employees at all organizational levels.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with JMP, Minitab, SPC XL, or similar statistical/process analysis tools.
Experience with PI or similar manufacturing data systems.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Self-motivated, organized, inquisitive, quality-focused, and results-oriented.
Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing priorities.
