    Position Summary

    The Quality Technician (IQC/QA/QC) is responsible for ensuring products and materials meet established quality standards throughout the manufacturing process. This role performs incoming material inspections (IQC), in-process quality inspections (QA), and final product verification (QC) to ensure customer requirements, IPC standards, and company quality expectations are consistently achieved.

    The ideal candidate has excellent attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement while supporting a culture of quality across the organization.

    Essential Responsibilities

    Incoming Quality Control (IQC)

    • Perform incoming inspections of raw materials, electronic components, printed circuit boards (PCBs), and mechanical parts.
    • Verify material conformance against engineering drawings, specifications, purchase orders, and quality requirements.
    • Identify, document, and quarantine nonconforming materials.
    • Work closely with Purchasing, Supply Chain, Engineering, and suppliers to resolve incoming quality issues.

    Quality Assurance (QA)

    • Perform in-process inspections throughout SMT, through-hole, hand assembly, soldering, testing, and final assembly operations.
    • Verify manufacturing processes are performed in accordance with work instructions, quality procedures, and IPC standards.
    • Conduct first article inspections (FAI) and support process validations.
    • Assist with internal quality audits and process compliance activities.
    • Monitor production quality trends and escalate issues when necessary.

    Quality Control (QC)

    • Perform final inspections of completed products prior to shipment.
    • Verify workmanship, labeling, documentation, packaging, and customer-specific requirements.
    • Ensure products meet quality standards before release to customers.
    • Support customer returns, failure analysis, and corrective action activities.

    Additional Responsibilities

    • Record inspection results and maintain accurate quality documentation.
    • Support nonconformance reporting (NCR) and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) activities.
    • Assist with root cause investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Utilize inspection equipment including calipers, microscopes, measuring devices, and testing equipment.
    • Participate in process improvement projects focused on reducing defects and improving product quality.
    • Collaborate with Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, Supply Chain, and Customer Success to resolve quality concerns.
    • Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
    • Maintain compliance with ISO 9001, IPC standards, ESD requirements, and customer-specific quality requirements.

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree preferred.
    • 2+ years of quality inspection experience in electronics manufacturing preferred.
    • Experience with PCB assembly (PCBA), SMT, or electronic manufacturing environments strongly preferred.
    • Working knowledge of IPC-A-610 and IPC J-STD-001 preferred.
    • Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems.
    • Ability to read engineering drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), assembly instructions, and quality documentation.
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and manufacturing systems.

    Physical Requirements

    • Manual dexterity for inspecting electronic assemblies and components.
    • Ability to work with microscopes, measuring instruments, and precision inspection equipment.
    • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow ESD protocols.
