Quality Technician

We are currently seeking experienced candidates with inspection skills and knowledge of electrical wiring and hydraulic installation for a client in Kent, Ohio. This role is ideal for someone detail-oriented and reliable, looking to contribute to a dynamic manufacturing team.

As a Quality Technician, you will perform in-process and final inspections, manage nonconforming materials, and keep detailed records within the Quality Department. Hours
1st Shift
06:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday - Thursday
OT on Fridays

Pay
$21.50/hour

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret part prints and air/electric schematics
  • Use inspection tools such as ultrasonic thickness testers, calipers, levels, measuring tape, digital cameras, torque wrenches, and basic computer skills
  • Visually inspect material or products for cracks, pits, corrosion, poor finish, incomplete welds, weld splatter, and sharp edges
  • Inspect and measure various materials and products from manufacturing processes including castings, stampings, laser-cut blanks, welding, electrical components, hydraulics, cables, plating, etc.
  • Compare products with part prints, schematics, build specifications, quality standards, and approved samples to verify quality and assembly suitability
  • Document inspections in written and electronic formats
  • Identify nonconforming materials and notify appropriate personnel for routing to the next step

Minimum Requirements
  • 1+ years of inspection experience
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Basic understanding of air/electric operations
  • Ability to read and interpret build prints and schematics
  • Strong understanding of weld quality
  • Experience using inspection tools and equipment
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, climb ladders, and work at heights
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to complete an online hazmat training course related to inspecting cargo tanks transporting hazardous materials

Nice to Have Skills
  • Experience working in manufacturing environments involving hydraulics and electrical components
  • Familiarity with quality standards and documentation procedures

Preferred Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years in an inspection-related role

Other Requirements
  • Ability to work on-site at manufacturing facilities
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Willing to complete required training as specified
