Description

Job Title: Quality Assurance Technician
Location: Rochester, NY

Summary: Nesco Resource is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Technician to support manufacturing quality operations in Rochester, NY. This role is ideal for individuals with manufacturing experience who have strong computer skills and a keen eye for detail. The Quality Assurance Technician will assist with inspecting parts, reviewing documentation, and supporting process audits to ensure products meet established quality standards.

This opportunity is open to candidates with some QA experience or individuals with a manufacturing background who are interested in transitioning into quality assurance. Shift(s):

  • 1st Shift:  8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Pay: $19.00 – $21.00/Hour (Based On Exp.)


Core Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform inspections of manufactured parts to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Measure components using basic inspection tools and verify accuracy of dimensions.
  • Review production documentation to ensure processes are being followed correctly.
  • Assist with auditing manufacturing processes to ensure adherence to procedures.
  • Document inspection findings and maintain accurate quality records.
  • Communicate quality concerns to production and leadership teams as needed.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to product quality and process consistency.
  • Use computer systems to enter data, maintain records, and communicate via email.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company quality guidelines.
  • Maintain organized documentation and ensure proper record retention.
  • Collaborate with production staff to help resolve quality-related issues.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Manufacturing experience required; prior QA or inspection experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to measure parts using basic inspection tools (calipers, gauges, rulers, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects or inconsistencies.
  • Good computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and email.
  • Ability to learn procedures and follow written instructions.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with production teams.
  • Ability to maintain accurate documentation and records.
  • Willingness to learn auditing processes and quality standards.

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing, sitting, walking: > 50% of the time
  • Use of hands for measuring, typing, and documentation: > 75%
  • Visual focus and attention to detail required
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.

Work Environment:

  • Manufacturing environment with exposure to production equipment
  • Temperature-controlled facility
  • Moderate noise levels
  • Use of required PPE as needed
  • Combination of desk work and production floor interaction
  • Quality-focused work environment requiring attention to detail
