Job Title: Quality/Test Engineer 3  
Location: Tucson, AZ
Job Type: W2 Contract
Expected hours per week: 40 hours per week
Schedule: On-site (Monday – Friday)
Pay Range: $38-40 per hour
Job Description:
The main function of a quality engineer is to research and test the design, functionality and maintenance of products, equipment, systems and processes and develop quality standards. A typical quality engineer has the ability to read and interpret blueprints, and evaluate product integrity and standards.

Job Responsibilities:
• Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.

• Establishes program to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities.

• May write training material and conduct training sessions on quality control activities.

• May specialize in areas of quality control engineering, such as design, incoming material, process control, product evaluation, product reliability, inventory control, metrology, automated testing, software, research and development, and administrative application.

• Directs workers engaged in measuring and testing product and tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliability.

• Basic leadership and mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics and computer-generated reports.

• Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD).
 
Typical task breakdown:
  • This is a very hands on job and requires a lot of collaboration.
  • A typical day will include getting updates on machine availability from Machine Engineers, driving instrumentation set up and assisting with troubleshooting as required, running tests with or without machine operators.
  • During planning and documentation stages, the day will include meetings with Design teams, most of which are teleconferences.

Interaction with team:
  • The position works closely with a small team of Cooling Engineers and Machine Validation Engineers to review designs, develop test plans, prepare instrumentation, execute tests, analyze results, and communicate results/recommendations back to Product Design teams.
  • This position is an entry level position in the group so will have a portion of their job that is to support the experienced Cooling Engineers by overseeing test set up and execution. The position will also be responsible to taking ownership of planning and delivering projects as capability is demonstrated.
Education & Experience Required:
  • Years of experience: 5-7 years
  • Degree requirement: A BS degree in an Engineering or Engineering Technology curriculum that included Thermodynamics/Fluid Dynamics (Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, etc.)
  • Do you accept internships as job experience:  Yes if their experience is in thermodynamics
