Quantitative Research Intern- Fixed Income Team

The Role

Fidelity is seeking to hire a Quantitative Analyst Intern to join its Quantitative Research and Investments division. The intern will work alongside quants, portfolio managers, and traders on the Fixed Income team to develop quantitative techniques, models, and tools that enhance the investment process.

• Understand, maintain, and improve analytical infrastructure supporting the investment process

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

• Master's or PhD student graduating in late 2027 or early 2028 with a degree in financial mathematics, engineering, science, or a related quantitative field
• Proficiency in Python (or similar modeling language) and SQL
• Familiarity with fixed income markets and analytics
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
• Structured thinking and intellectual curiosity
• Effective communicator with the ability to explain complex ideas clearly

• Collaborative team player with a passion for investing and financial markets

The Team

Quantitative Research and Investing (QRI) is an investments and research division within Asset Management at Fidelity. QRI is responsible for managing and developing quantitative and hybrid quant/fundamental investment strategies and solutions while also providing high quality quantitative, data-driven research to Fidelity’s investment professionals, ensuring they have access to the most relevant data and advanced quantitative analysis.

This role supports Fidelity's Fixed Income division, which is one of the leading managers of bond and money market instruments with over $2 trillion in fixed income assets. The Fixed Income team combines fundamental research on domestic and international debt issuers with macroeconomic and quantitative analysis to develop investment decisions that stay true to each portfolio’s defined investment mandate, while aiming to maximize risk-adjusted total return for our clients. 

Fidelity’s Asset Management Internship Program

As a participant in Fidelity’s Asset Management internship program, you will gain hands-on training, receive mentorship from investment professionals, and contribute to meaningful projects and key deliverables. High-performing interns may be considered for a full-time opportunity upon graduation.

The base salary range for this position is $50 - $77 per hour.

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.
