An established intellectual property boutique is seeking an experienced Patent Agent with substantive patent preparation and prosecution experience involving quantum computing.
The practice represents innovative technology companies developing next-generation products across quantum computing, cybersecurity, cryptography, semiconductors, software, AI, and other advanced technologies. This position offers significant responsibility, direct client interaction, and sophisticated patent work.
Role & Responsibilities
Draft and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications.
Work directly with inventors and engineers to understand complex technologies and develop strong patent claims.
Prepare Office Action responses and manage applications throughout prosecution.
Assist clients with patent strategy and portfolio development.
Develop and expand client relationships.
Technical Focus
Actual quantum computing patent preparation and prosecution experience is a key requirement.

Requirements
3+ years of substantive patent preparation and prosecution
experience.
Demonstrated experience drafting and prosecuting quantum computing
patent applications.
Cybersecurity, cryptography, semiconductor, or sophisticated
software patent experience strongly preferred.
B.S. or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science,
Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline.
USPTO registration required.
Strong patent drafting, technical writing, and client communication
skills.
Some portable patent prosecution business preferred.

Expected base salary: $120,000–$180,000, depending on experience, technical background, portable business, and overall qualifications.
