In this role, you will help design, simulate, and layout the next generation of IBM Quantum processors. Our ambitious quantum roadmap requires continuous improvements in processor performance, scalability, and reliability while introducing new capabilities and technologies. As a Research Scientist, you will invent and model new processor technologies, including novel gates that connect qubits across a quantum chip, inter-chip entangling gates, advanced readout schemes, and novel reset mechanisms. You will design, simulate, and lay out test devices and work closely with experimental teams to evaluate their performance. You will then integrate successful innovations into the next generation of IBM Quantum processors, helping to shape the future of quantum computing.
