Position Summary
Queenstown Harbor, a premier VIVÂMEE destination, is seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Facilities Operator to support the maintenance and daily operations of our property. This role is essential in ensuring our guest experience is seamless, safe, and up to brand standards.
The ideal candidate is proactive, mechanically inclined, and thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote and embody VIVÂMEE values in all guest and team interactions
- Support the training, motivation, and evaluation of maintenance team members
- Execute and maintain preventative maintenance programs aligned with brand standards
- Inspect guest rooms following preventative maintenance; coordinate with departments and ensure readiness before release
- Maintain accurate inventory of maintenance supplies and materials
- Manage and track work orders (completed and pending) with strong prioritization
- Complete work orders efficiently and communicate completion to relevant departments
- Perform HVAC repairs and conduct coil cleaning semi-annually or as needed
- Repair appliances and general equipment as required
- Ensure routine preventative maintenance on:
- Laundry equipment
- HVAC systems
- Ice machines
- Fire life safety equipment (extinguishers, alarms, etc.)
- Plumbing and irrigation systems
- Maintain the appearance of grounds, curb appeal, and building exteriors
- Develop and sustain departmental processes that ensure quality control and operational excellence
- Coordinate with departments to fulfill guest requests and special needs
- Support the General Manager in resolving engineering and facility-related guest concerns
- Train team members on emergency procedures, safety standards, and key control
- Communicate updates clearly across departments through logs, meetings, and direct communication
- Ensure accurate room/suite status updates with Front Desk and Housekeeping teams
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
- 2+ years of maintenance technician experience or similar background
- Hospitality maintenance experience preferred (hotel, resort, or similar setting)
- Working knowledge of:
- HVAC systems
- Basic electrical systems
- Carpentry and general repairs
- Experience working on a farm, winery, or outdoor property is a plus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to collaborate with diverse teams and personalities
- Trade certifications (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.) are a plus but not required
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
