Job Description

Title: Quoting Specialist

Role Summary

Responsible for partnering with the Procurement and Material Estimating teams to ensure all programs have accurate, current, and complete range pricing for materials and services. The Quoting Specialist proactively develops, maintains, and analyzes material cost data to support estimating for future proposal activities, enabling timely, competitive, and compliant bids in support of GD Land Systems programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree Supply Chain Management or Business related degree
• 3-5 years of relevant professional experience (procurement or supply chain preferred, if applicable)
• Proficiency with Oracle and related business/computer systems
• Strong negotiation skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Solid understanding of procurement processes
• Demonstrated ability to effectively multi-task and manage workload/buying deck
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment to meet objectives and performance metrics
• High standard of business ethics and professional conduct
• High capability to operate autonomously and problem solve complex matters

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Procurement team and Program stakeholders to ensure all programs have valid, up-to-date range pricing for materials and services
• Develop, maintain, and manage database and range pricing libraries to support proposal and estimating activities
• Pull drawings and specifications to support RFQ/RFP solicitations
• Prepare and issue Requests for Quotes (RFQs) to suppliers specifically in support of proposal and estimating activities
• Analyze supplier quotes to establish competitive and compliant range pricing for current and future program needs
• Coordinate with Estimating, Engineering, and Program Management to translate technical requirements and bills of material into accurate quoting packages
• Prepare and issue Requests for Quotes (RFQs) to suppliers specifically in support of proposal and estimating activities
• Validate and reconcile quote data with procurement records and historical purchase information to ensure consistency and accuracy
• Monitor expiration dates and validity periods of quotes and range pricing, proactively refreshing data to avoid gaps in coverage
• Collaborate with Procurement to ensure quoted pricing aligns with sourcing strategies, long-term agreements, and supplier roadmaps
• Identify cost reduction and value improvement opportunities through quote analysis and supplier feedback
• Ensure all quoting and pricing activities comply with GDLS procedures and applicable regulations and customer requirements
• Collaborate as an active team member and assist/mentor colleagues as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned
