Position SummaryThe Lab Technician R&D performs small production and lab samplebatch-making tasks in the production of industrial coatings products tomeet customer specifications in accordance with established HentzenCoatings health, safety, and environmental procedures. Successfulcandidates must achieve acceptable scores on both the color matching andMath Assessments. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Gathers Rawmaterials, assembles batches, shades, and performs QC testing. Evaluatesbatches for conformance to specifications. Adjusts properties ofindividual batches within formulation guidelines. Performs testingrelated to product performance. Prepares customer samples and panels.May be required to perform all aspects of liquid batches of 10 gallonsor less, such as dispersion, letdown, color matching, quality control,and filling. Maintains records of processes and results. Documents andrecords all actions taken in preparation of product. Records batchinformation on appropriate computer programs. Maintains standards forhousekeeping and safety. Participate in housekeeping activities,including the proper disposal of hazardous waste in accordance withCompany Procedures And Regulatory Requirements. Initial And Annualhazardous waste training is provided by the Environmental and SafetyCoordinator or department supervisor. Perform other related duties asAssigned. Qualification Requirements Preferred Education LevelAssociate\'s or two-year college degree or equivalent.
