Job Title: R&D Electrical Engineer Instrument Transformers & Sensors
Location: Mebane, NC (Onsite)
Job Summary
We are seeking an R&D Electrical Engineer to support the design and development of Medium Voltage (MV) Instrument Transformers and Sensors. The ideal candidate will have experience in electrical product development, CAD design, engineering simulations, testing, and cross-functional collaboration throughout the product development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop medium-voltage instrument transformers and sensor products.
- Create 3D models, 2D drawings, engineering documentation, and manufacturing data.
- Perform electrical, thermal, electromagnetic, structural, and CFD simulations.
- Conduct product testing, validation, troubleshooting, and design verification.
- Participate in design reviews and support product industrialization activities.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, sourcing, systems engineering, and cross-functional engineering teams.
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, product specifications, and quality requirements.
- Support product innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 4+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience designing or developing medium- or high-voltage electrical products.
- Knowledge of FEM simulations, including dielectric, electromagnetic, structural, thermal, and CFD analysis.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software.
- Experience with electrical testing, validation, and troubleshooting.
- Experience supporting product industrialization is preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 10 15% as required.
