Job Summary

The Systems Engineer will be a key contributor within the Electrophysiology Systems Engineering team, focusing on the development of next-generation Advanced Mapping technologies. This role involves collaborating with and leading cross-functional teams to analyze system performance, manage system integration, and support product development from concept to launch.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead system-level product development from concept to launch.
  • Define system architecture, system behavior, and product requirements.
  • Work with Product Marketing, Clinical Engineering, and medical experts to convert user needs into design requirements.
  • Support design, development, and troubleshooting of cardiac mapping and ablation products.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to solve technical issues, manage risks, and meet project timelines.
  • Plan and manage system integration, root cause analysis, and solution development.
  • Present technical updates, program status, and reviews to senior management.
  • Contribute to product and technology roadmaps.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support team collaboration.
  • Ensure compliance with Abbott, FDA, ISO, and other regulatory standards.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of systems engineering and software development lifecycle.
  • Experience with complex electrical hardware, software, and signal-processing systems.
  • Ability to solve complex engineering problems.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Leadership and cross-functional team management skills.
  • Good understanding of medical device regulations, FDA, ISO, and documentation requirements.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Preferred: experience in cardiac mapping/ablation systems, IEC 60601 standards, and managing direct reports.
