Designing, validating, and bringing new products to market.
Specifying precise new product functional requirements; designing, testing, and integrating components to produce final designs; and evaluating the design's overall effectiveness, cost, reliability, and safety.
Designing, developing, executing, and evaluating fitness-for-use testing, product specifications, and process validation plans; creating and reviewing material part specifications and bills of materials.
Collaborating with internal manufacturing partners, contract manufacturers, designers, and product specialists to optimize designs for manufacturability.
Utilizing CAD (Computer-Aided Design) or CAE (Computer-Aided Engineering) systems to model new designs and produce detailed engineering drawings.
Researching, designing, developing, modifying, and verifying components and systems for medical devices with minimal supervision.
Translating user needs into design inputs/specifications and producing system-level designs.
Developing and analyzing solutions, prototyping one or more options to provide proof of concept.
Applying fundamental and some advanced concepts, practices, and procedures for problem-solving.
Supporting problem solving, root cause analysis, identifying potential solutions, and evaluating them against requirements.
Developing bench testing methods, conducting measurement system analysis, and developing DOE.
Conducting research and studies to support product design.
Demonstrating an advanced understanding of customer needs and design inputs.
Demonstrating proficiency with the products intended use and clinical procedures.
Learning how the financial models are constructed.
Supporting Voice of Customer sessions internally and with clinicians to develop an understanding of customer needs.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
Proven ability to design, develop, and validate components and systems for medical devices.
Experience with CAD/CAE modeling and detailed engineering drawings.
Ability to translate user needs into functional specifications.
Strong problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis and designing testing solutions.
Familiarity with industry standards, design controls, and risk management in a regulated environment.
Experience with vascular device engineering.
Knowledge of developing test fixtures and verification/validation testing methods.
Ability to communicate technical plans clearly to team members, leadership, and project managers.
Proven influence and results-driven mindset within cross-functional teams.
