R&D Intern: Medical Device Prototyping & Microfluidics
We are seeking a motivated Research & Development Intern to assist in the design, fabrication, and testing of an innovative plasma separation device. This role is ideal for a student or recent graduate in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field who is passionate about hands-on prototyping and medical diagnostics.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- CAD Design & Iteration: Develop and refine 3D models of microfluidic components and device housings using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360).
- Rapid Prototyping: Operate and maintain 3D printers (SLA/FDM) to produce high-fidelity prototypes for experimental testing.
- Experimental Testing: Assist in benchtop fluidic testing to evaluate plasma separation efficiency and device performance.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of design iterations, print parameters, and test results to support the development cycle.
Required Skills- HIGHLY proficient in 3D CAD modeling.
- Hands-on experience with 3D printing technologies and post-processing.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and a "maker" mindset for troubleshooting hardware.
- Ability to work independently in a laboratory or workshop environment.
