    The Role

    As a Research and Development Lab Technician at EnergyX, you will support our research and development operations as a key contributor in the synthesis, testing, and analysis of innovative organic and inorganic compounds. In this role, you will collaborate closely with senior researchers, gaining invaluable mentorship while executing experimental plans and managing testing schedules. Our ideal candidate will show a keen attention to detail as they convert raw data into comprehensive reports that drive projects forward. Safety is our top priority! Our employees are expected to uphold OSHA regulations while ensuring a secure working environment. As part of our Operations team, you will maintain accurate inventories, facilities procurement processes, and keep our laboratory organized and efficient. This position will be located at our Headquarters in Austin, Texas. All work will be conducted in the office and lab.This position will be available on a rolling basis.     Key Responsibilities

    Synthesis, Testing, and Analysis:

    • Assist in synthesizing organic and inorganic compounds according to the specifications provided by EnergyX.
    • Conduct chemical analysis and material testing following proper protocols.
    • Convert raw data and laboratory sample analyses into comprehensive internal and external reports, contributing to the understanding and progress of our projects.

    Safety Compliance:

    • Prioritize safety protocols and maintain a secure working environment in accordance with OSHA regulations and permit-specific requirements.
    • Adhere to proper and consistent usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to ensure personal safety and minimize risks.

    Experimentation Management:

    • Execute experimental plans under the guidance of senior researchers.
    • Manage and optimize the testing schedule to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks.
    • Set up the equipment required for experimentation and ensure its proper functioning.
    • Diligently record and analyze experimental data, contributing to the generation of meaningful insights.
    • Assist the science team in daily solution preparation and sampling, demonstrating attention to detail and precision in laboratory procedures.

    General Laboratory Duties:

    • Collaborate effectively within the operations team to achieve project objectives.
    • Maintain accurate inventories of materials, ensuring adequate supplies for ongoing research activities.
    • Facilitate procurement processes by ordering equipment, chemicals, and other necessary supplies in a timely manner.
    • Uphold cleanliness and organization in the laboratory environment to promote efficiency and safety.
    • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.

    Physical Demands:

    The physical demands of this job are consistent with working in a wet-laboratory setting. Requires the ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • 2- 4 years of experience in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or similar OR recent Bachelors degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, with no experience required.
