R&D Packaging Technician

Key Responsibilities:
The R&D Packaging Technician will conduct packaging tests, manage test data using a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), and operate automated equipment. Works under limited supervision assisting engineers, scientists, and/or team in the development and analysis of products, materials, processes, or equipment.
  • Executing routine and non-routine laboratory tests that require fine motor skills, accurate hand-eye coordination, and careful handling of components and equipment.
  • Using a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to plan, execute and record test results.
  • Testing prototypes per engineering instructions and documenting test results.
  • Developing proficiency in LIMS to ensure seamless electronic test management.
  • Communicating assignment status to project engineers.
  • Training others on new product processes and procedures.
  • Building quality into all aspects of work by maintaining compliance to all quality requirements.
  • Ensuring product is tested to the most current/validated method/process and specification and documentation is correctly completed per GLP & QS requirements as applicable.
Qualifications:
  • Two-year Technical Degree (i.e., AA, Certificate)
  • 2+ years' of technical work experience in medical device development preferred.
  • Previous medical device experience highly preferred.
  • Experience working in a lab environment or production environment highly preferred.
  • Strong computer proficiency and the ability to quickly learn complex systems (experience with LIMS is a plus).
  • Hands-on experience operating automated equipment or robotic systems.
