A leading electronics testing company is seeking an R&D Technicianto support custom manufacturing operations through order management, workflow development, CAD design, metrology support, process troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role serves as a critical link between engineering and production, ensuring manufacturable solutions, accurate measurement systems, and efficient manufacturing processes.
R&D Technician Responsibilities:
Manage and prioritize non-standard manufacturing orders, communicate status updates, define production requirements, and maintain ownership of delivery timelines from initiation through completion.
Design and generate photomask layouts using 2D and 3D CAD systems while applying engineering judgment and established manufacturing guidelines.
Develop, maintain, and optimize measurement routines across multiple metrology platforms, analyze inspection data, and provide manufacturability recommendations to engineering teams.
Train production operators, support manufacturing floor activities, and troubleshoot process, equipment, and production issues to ensure quality and operational efficiency.
Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives through data collection, statistical analysis, process documentation, process control, and implementation of manufacturing best practices.
R&D Technician Qualifications:
Associate degree (AA/AS), technical certification, or equivalent technical training and experience.
Experience in a manufacturing, process engineering, semiconductor, PCB, photochemical machining, or related technical environment.
Proficiency with Siemens NX CAD software and experience creating or modifying technical designs and layouts.
Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and practical metrology principles.
Experience using vision and metrology equipment such as Keyence, Nikon, OGP, Zygo, or similar measurement systems.
Understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC), manufacturing statistics, and process improvement methodologies.
Knowledge of process control principles and basic chemistry within a manufacturing environment.
Ability to interpret measurement data and provide actionable recommendations.
