    Job Description

    SUMMARY:\n \nProvide assistance to the Technology organization, with regard to product / process development efforts, via: (1) Trials on pilot equipment; (2) Trials on full scale manufacturing equipment; (3) Laboratory experimentation; and (4) Testing, analysis, and reporting.\n \nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\n\n Execute pilot trials\n Understanding of / ability to operate pilot production equipment\n Experience with process controls and exacting SOPs\n Perform physical and chemical testing on raw materials, and new product prototypes according to specified test procedures\n Record and summarize test data and observations from product and raw material testing; proficiency of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint\n Review and modify test methods to ensure accurate and useful data\n Assist in the scale-up to full production capabilities\n Maintain laboratory notebook\n \n\n Participate in Production Trials\n Assist in execution of machine trials for product development\n Monitor checkpoints; collect samples and data\n Train on specialized equipment; operate and maintain this equipment\n Formulate standardized reports\n \n\n

    • Ability to interact both internally and externally, adhering to all company guidelines and principles\n Influence other technicians and scientists at more than current site location\n \n\n Carries out functions that must comply with ITAR standards; therefore must be U.Scitizen or possess a Green card\n To work safely in all aspects of the position\n \nEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:\n\n Associates degree or equivalent experience in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Materials Science. Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.\n 2+ years' experience in a production setting\n Ability to handle and process elastomeric strands is preferred\n Six Sigma Green Belt preferred\n High degree of mechanical aptitude\n Demonstrated proficiency in math and science\n Excellent computer skills: Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint\n Strong verbal and written communication skills\n Conscientious, detail-oriented, and accurate\n Strong observation skills\n Independent, self-starter that works with minimal supervision\n \nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND ENVIRONMENT:\n\n Potential musculoskeletal stresses from repetitive motion of arms/hands, standing for prolonged periods, performing frequent bending and twisting motions, lifting of light weight objects.\n Steady hands and dexterity to perform tasks repeatedly and accurately.\n Perform tasks that require constant state of alertness.\n Work performed in laboratory environment with potential exposure to hazardous materials.\n* Work performed in production area with potential exposure to large equipment/machinery and loud noises.\n\n
