Radiation Technician

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated, dependable, and patient-focused Radiation Technologist to join our growing Interventional Pain Management practice. This full-time position plays a vital role in supporting physicians during fluoroscopy-guided interventional pain procedures while also assisting with clinical and administrative duties to ensure efficient patient care and practice operations.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment, demonstrates excellent organizational and communication skills, and is committed to delivering exceptional patient care. This position requires flexibility to perform both radiologic and medical assistant responsibilities as needed throughout the day.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Radiologic and Procedural Responsibilities

  • Operate fluoroscopy equipment during interventional pain management procedures while ensuring             optimal image quality and patient safety.
  • Assist physicians during fluoroscopy-guided procedures, including:
    • Epidural Steroid Injections (ESI)
    • Radiofrequency Neurolytic Ablations (RFA)
    • Selective Nerve Root Blocks (SNRB)
    • Medial Branch Blocks (MBB)
    • Sacroiliac Joint Injections
    • Hip and Other Joint Injections
    • Intrathecal Pain Pump Trials and Implantations
    • Spinal Cord Stimulator Trials and Permanent Implantations
  • Position patients appropriately for procedures and imaging.
  • Document fluoroscopy time and radiation exposure in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with radiation safety standards and ALARA principles.
  • Perform routine quality assurance and equipment checks.
  • Prepare procedure rooms and ensure all equipment and supplies are available and functioning properly.
  • Maintain a sterile and safe procedural environment.
  • Deliver compassionate, professional, and patient-centered care.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, medical assistants, and administrative staff to maintain efficient patient flow. The ideal candidate must also be willing to support clinical staff in basic medical assisting duties, including but not limited to rooming patients and preparing them for provider evaluation and treatment, obtaining and accurately documenting vital signs, assisting with EMR documentation, and performing basic administrative tasks as needed to support efficient practice operations and exceptional patient care.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and all applicable federal and state regulations.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to assist wherever needed to support patient care and practice operations.
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and team-oriented work environment.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Graduate of an approved ARRT-recognized Radiography Education Program.

Licensure and Certification

  • Active Indiana State Radiologic Technologist License issued by the Indiana Department of Health (IDOH).
  • Current certification and registration through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain upon hire.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of fluoroscopic imaging techniques and radiation safety principles.
  • Experience operating C-arm fluoroscopy equipment.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology.
  • Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced clinical setting.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and composure under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in Interventional Pain Management, Orthopedics, Spine Care, Surgery, or Procedural Medicine.
  • Previous experience performing both radiologic and medical assistant duties in an outpatient setting.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to assist patients with positioning and mobility.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment and supplies as needed.
  • Ability to wear lead protective equipment for prolonged periods during procedures.
