Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Radiation Therapist to join a collaborative Radiation Oncology team. In this role, you will be responsible for administering prescribed radiation treatments to patients while ensuring safety, accuracy, and exceptional patient care throughout the treatment process.
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Experience with radiation oncology software and treatment planning systems is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Administer radiation therapy treatments as prescribed by physicians and according to established protocols and safety standards
Operate and maintain radiation therapy equipment and related systems
Ensure accurate patient positioning and treatment delivery
Monitor patients during treatment and provide compassionate patient support and education
Collaborate closely with physicians, dosimetrists, physicists, nurses, and other oncology team members
Maintain accurate treatment records and patient documentation
Follow radiation safety procedures and comply with all regulatory requirements
Utilize healthcare informatics systems and electronic medical records effectively
Support departmental operations and assist with additional responsibilities as needed
Qualifications
Associate's Degree in Radiation Therapy or equivalent required
Radiation Therapy Certification required and must be in good standing
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Strong understanding of radiation safety practices and regulatory compliance
Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Preferred Experience
Experience with Aria and Eclipse Treatment Planning systems
Experience using Phillips CT software
Prior experience in a Radiation Oncology environment preferred
