Radio Systems Technician

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Radio Systems Administrator to support a company focused on federal communications infrastructure and secure radio systems for mission‑critical public safety operations. This position is on-site in Washington, DC. The Radio Systems Administrator will support, monitor, and troubleshoot enterprise radio systems while ensuring reliable communications for a high-visibility federal program. Responsibilities for the Radio Systems Administrator include:

• Monitor and analyze radio traffic using platforms such as Motorola UEM and ZoneWatch, ensuring optimal system performance
• Support deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of P25 Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systems, including base stations, repeaters, radios, and consoles
• Assist with infrastructure upgrades, system refresh efforts, and security enhancements across enterprise radio networks
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across core, site, subscriber, and WAVE divisions to maintain system reliability
• Provide technical support and documentation while maintaining strong communication within a team-focused environment

Required Qualifications for the Radio Systems Administrator include:

• 3+ years of experience supporting radio systems, telecommunications, or field service technical environments
• Hands-on experience with P25 equipment, including programming, deployment, or troubleshooting of LMR systems
• Familiarity with radio monitoring/analysis tools (e.g., Motorola UEM, ZoneWatch, or similar platforms)
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
• Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Ability to obtain a DHS Public Trust clearance (can start prior to clearance processing)

Compensation for the Radio Systems Administrator include:

• Salary Range: $100,000 - $120,000 depending on experience
