Department Summary: The Department of Radiation Sciences welcomes you! We offer B.S. in Clinical Radiation Sciences with concentrations in Nuclear Medicine Technology, Radiation Therapy, Radiography, and Diagnostic Medical Sonography. As Virginia''s only B.S. program with content specific to all modalities, you have the opportunity to prepare for the technical and professional demands of the 21st century.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The instructor will supervise an open laboratory time for students and perform the following duties:

  • Demonstrate Procedures: Show proper patient positioning and equipment operation using energized and non-energized X-ray labs
  • Supervise Practice: Guide small student groups through hands-on psychomotor skill training.
  • Enforce Safety: Ensure strict compliance with radiation safety rules and patient care standards.
  • Coordination with faculty: Collaborate with course faculty to ensure the appropriate coordination and bridging between classroom theories and clinical applications.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Baccalaureate degree
  • Current radiography certification by ARRT
  • 3 years clinical experience as a diagnostic radiographer

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or higher
  • 10 years' experience as a diagnostic radiographer
  • 3 years' experience as a collegiate educator in radiologic sciences

Salary Range: $4,000 - $9,000 (commensurate with experience)
