Summary:

Takes diagnostic radiographs of patients while maintaining patient safety.

Responsibilities:

• 1. Introduce and greet patient. • 2. Responsible for the care and safety of patients. • 3. Instructs and prepares patient for xray & or fluoroscopic exam. • 4. Determines most suitable anatomical posture and positions, & shields patient accordingly. • 5. Produce high quality xrays. • 6. Assists with training students and ancillary personnel. • 7. Interacts professionally with patients and family. • 8. Completes all work before clocking out and leaving. • 9. Attends annual hospital review (compliance) and departmental inservices meetings as scheduled. • 10. Practices medicine and surgical aseptic procedures. • 11. Is proficient in either mammography, operating room or another specialty modality. • 12. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position. • 13. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education Skills Experience:

Required: Continuing education, 24 CEU credits for license. Minimum Experience: one year Desired: Experience with patient care in a radiology setting. Specialty certification.
