Radiologic Technologist – Diagnostic (Community)

Location: Syracuse, NY
Duration: 14 Weeks
Shift: Nights (10:30 PM – 7:00 AM) Rotating weekends and possible holiday coverage; on-call may be required


Position Summary

We are seeking a qualified Radiologic Technologist to perform diagnostic radiographic examinations under the direction of radiologists. The ideal candidate will ensure high-quality imaging while maintaining patient safety and comfort.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform radiographic examinations as prescribed by physicians and radiologists
  • Greet patients, explain procedures, and ensure patient comfort
  • Accurately position patients and select appropriate exposure factors
  • Maintain strict adherence to radiation safety and protection standards
  • Operate imaging equipment efficiently and report malfunctions promptly
  • Process imaging studies and ensure quality results
  • Enter patient and exam data into the Radiology Information System (RIS) for documentation and billing
  • Follow departmental policies, procedures, and protocols
  • Collaborate with healthcare staff to meet patient care needs

Required Qualifications

  • Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) in Radiologic Technology or equivalent
  • Valid New York State license/registration as a Radiologic Technologist
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in the field
  • Successful completion of pre-employment health clearance

Required Skills & Experience

  • Hands-on experience in diagnostic radiography
  • Strong knowledge of imaging equipment and radiographic techniques
  • Understanding of radiation safety standards and protocols
  • Ability to work independently during night shifts
  • Good communication and patient care skills
