Radiologic Technologist – Diagnostic (Community)
Location: Syracuse, NY
Duration: 14 Weeks
Shift: Nights (10:30 PM – 7:00 AM) Rotating weekends and possible holiday coverage; on-call may be required
Position Summary
We are seeking a qualified Radiologic Technologist to perform diagnostic radiographic examinations under the direction of radiologists. The ideal candidate will ensure high-quality imaging while maintaining patient safety and comfort.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform radiographic examinations as prescribed by physicians and radiologists
- Greet patients, explain procedures, and ensure patient comfort
- Accurately position patients and select appropriate exposure factors
- Maintain strict adherence to radiation safety and protection standards
- Operate imaging equipment efficiently and report malfunctions promptly
- Process imaging studies and ensure quality results
- Enter patient and exam data into the Radiology Information System (RIS) for documentation and billing
- Follow departmental policies, procedures, and protocols
- Collaborate with healthcare staff to meet patient care needs
Required Qualifications
- Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) in Radiologic Technology or equivalent
- Valid New York State license/registration as a Radiologic Technologist
- Minimum 1 year of experience in the field
- Successful completion of pre-employment health clearance
Required Skills & Experience
- Hands-on experience in diagnostic radiography
- Strong knowledge of imaging equipment and radiographic techniques
- Understanding of radiation safety standards and protocols
- Ability to work independently during night shifts
- Good communication and patient care skills
