What Youll Do:
As a Radiologic Technologist - Diagnostic, you will perform radiographic examinations under the guidance of departmental radiologists. Your responsibilities include greeting and preparing patients, explaining procedures, positioning patients accurately, and setting optimal exposure factors to obtain high-quality images. You will practice strict radiation safety protocols, operate imaging equipment efficiently, and ensure proper documentation and billing. Your keen eye for equipment functionality and adherence to departmental policies will help maintain a safe, efficient imaging environment.
Required Skills:
- A.A.S. in Radiologic Technology or equivalent
- Valid NYS license/registration in Radiologic Technology
- Minimum of one year experience as a radiologic technologist
- Ability to operate imaging equipment competently and safely
- Strong understanding of radiation safety and patient care protocols
- Excellent communication and patient interaction skills
- Proficiency in using Radiology Information Systems (RIS) for documentation and billing
Nice to Have Skills:
- Bilingual abilities or multilingual communication skills
- Experience with advanced imaging modalities or specialized procedures
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems
Preferred Education and Experience:
- A.A.S. degree in Radiologic Technology or higher
- At least one year of hands-on experience in a clinical radiology setting
Other Requirements:
- Must successfully pass pre-employment health clearance
- Available for night shifts as schedule includes overnight hours
- Willingness to work in a community healthcare environment and uphold safety standards
- Travel or certification reimbursements may be applicable for related professional activities
