The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for operating a C-Arm to fluoroscopically assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of orthopaedic disease or injury of the spine. This position works Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm and covers our Riverview, FL location (may also fill gaps at other locations in rare times of staff shortage). This position is subject to PTO blackout the last ten (10) business days of December each year.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepares patient for fluoroscopic spine procedures Protects patient, self, and other staff from radiation hazards Draws medications for injection procedures prior to start of scheduled clinic Complies with all safety standards, consistently communicates, and pays strict attention to detail Monitors all supplies and submits purchasing requests to maintain proper supply levels Travels to multiple clinic locations to perform radiologic duties as required Prepares lab specimens and completes process for LabCorp pickup Performs other duties as directed by Physicians or Practice Manager
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma Associate degree in Radiologic Technology from accredited state program required Current ARRT Licensure required Minimum 3-5 years' experience working for an orthopaedic spine healthcare practice, spine pain management office, clinic, or hospital Broad knowledge of radiology equipment including safety hazards common to radiology and sterile technique Excellent written and verbal communicator Thrives at a fast pace and adjusts flexibly to a continually changing environment Utilizes good judgment, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills Able to lift/push/pull 50 pounds safely and spends 90% of clinical days standing and walking Able to reliably travel between office locations Ability to effectively understand, follow, and communicate oral and written instructions in English. Must read, write, and speak English fluently to ensure clear work-related communication and patient safety. Experience using AllScripts EHR/EMR systems preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to safely push and maneuver occupied wheelchairs up to 75 pounds of force. Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Able to spend prolonged periods sitting at a desk while working on a computer, standing, walking, and navigating hallways, elevators, and outdoor walkways.
